I, Faraz Malik, the undersigned, appeal to you to take this three-piece bio with a pinch of salt. I would like to think that the following is funny and it won't hurt anyone. I have worked with brilliant people, and I know they can take a joke (or two). Read away!
Editor: Apart from the members of my editorial clan and a few other curious ones, I have a grave hunch that not many people know what I do. So here goes: you see those perky and extremely well dressed people trying to sell you something in between your TV shows? Yes, yes those things that are used to attract attention of toddlers all over the world just so that they have their food. I edit them. I am Faraz Malik and I am an editor *alcoholics anonymous style*
I have been editing ad films for over 10 years now, and I still love it with the same gusto like <insert a smart simile here>. I have had the fortune to work with a few amazing people and have the will to work with some more. Every single project is a new experience and there is no denying that I am addicted to my job. I think that should cover the editor part of my profile.
Story teller: this is a synonym to the word 'editor'. I love how a few good shots can change the face of the entire ad. "Arre woh expression hai na..it takes the cake (yaar)". That's it! That's my cue to take a bow. I believe story telling is an art and I would like to be the best storyteller there was. I have a feeling with the kind of mentors I have had, I am on the right track.
Thingamajician: This pretty much means turning a project around and leading it to salvation. If the footage is good, the ad will be amazing. If the footage is not good, I promise to try and pull rabbits out of the hats. Let's not get in any more muck here. You know what I am saying *non creepy smile*
That's that. If you're still reading this, you deserve an applause! Do check out some of my work. Also, visit the blog on this site. It's supposed to be brilliant. Hope to see you in my edit room soon :)
